In December of 2016, Jed and Traci, along with their two kids, Andrew-3 years and Maci-9 months, visited a children’s museum in Kansas City while on vacation. The Crouse family had such a fun time exploring all the different themed rooms that it was hard to leave. The kids were engaged in play at their own levels, were able to choose and explore their interests, and learn while interacting with their peers and hands-on exhibits.
What started as a dream has become a reality through the hard work and dedication of a few faithful volunteers and the overwhelming support of the Baraboo community.
Through an opportunity with DBI, the Baraboo Children’s Museum was able to prove their business model through a Pop-Up Shop Campaign in 2018.
Through the skilled craftsmanship of Joey Kliztke, John Westendorf, Sara and Matt Noll, and Jed Crouse, and the faithful administration of Sara Noll, the Baraboo Children’s Museum opened their doors on October 19, 2019. The Baraboo Children’s Museum continues to evolve into a cherished fixture of the Baraboo community by young and old alike.
Operated completely by a volunteer workforce, the museum offers a one of a kind hands on experience that will inspire and entertain children of all ages.
As lifelong residents of Baraboo, our volunteers desire to serve the community that has served them so well.
